So much has happened since I last blogged! Thanksgiving came and went before I could even blink. It was so nice to be at home and have a house full of people. Lots of laughter, Duck Dynasty and football watching, and shopping. My family really is the best, however I was ready to get back into the swing of things in Austin for the last leg of the semester. Being in a packed house made me really appreciate the calmness of my apartment haha.
Some of the best parts of my trip back home:
Shrimp Damien and sweet potato ravioli with sage butter sauce at one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Houston, Damien's.
My sweet cousin Brady. He is a hoot and kept me entertained the whole week.
My mom is SO creative! She and I both share a love for Christmas decorations.
On Thanksgiving Day, UT played TCU, so I brought my little cousin Kacy to the game with me. It was so great to watch the game with some great high school friends (pictured above). It was especially fun for Kacy because it was her first UT home game. She loved it. It's beyond bittersweet that that was my very last home game as a student :(
On the last day of the break, my best friends from high school and I went to the Renaissance Festival. It was SO MUCH FUN! I was so happy to spend time with them--I've missed them so so much!
Like I said before, the break was much needed, but I was happy to be back. I missed my friends, and surprisingly, work! These past 2 weeks have been such a breeze. I am so fortunate to have such a stress-free semester this year. Everyone I know is running on 3 hours of sleep, chugging coffee like there's no tomorrow, and slaving away at endless papers, tests, and projects--and I'm just sitting around watching Netflix haha. Luckily, I've been blessed with the best group members in the world for projects this semester, so the work has almost been enjoyable. Weird. In my mind, this is how my senior year is supposed to be :)
Being an advertising major, I'm a stickler for typography. I'm obsessed with it. So the other day, I was peer-grading one of my classmate's paper in my management class when I noticed they typed the entire paper in Comic Sans font. Geez. Stop it. Be professional; we're not making a 5th grade book fair poster. So I left them this note :)
Life is just so good. Christmastime is my favorite time of the year. I mean for god's sake, I put our tree up before Thanksgiving haha. I've been watching Christmas movies, listening to Christmas music, decking the halls, and doing super festive activities:
Like making my boyfriend go ice-skating with me. Though, I didn't really think this through... it was supposed to be a cute double date, but I failed to remember I'm the worst ice-skater in the world. Luckily, Graham is a hockey player (aka pro figure skater), so he held my hand and made sure I didn't bust my ass. What a keeper. I did eventually bust my ass. I suck.
And sweater wearing. Now I just need it to stay cold in Texas and I'll be good as gold!
I'm so excited to see what December has in store. I'm really close to getting a 4.0 this semester; keep your fingers crossed! Also, my birthday is this weekend, which means a fancy dinner with the boyfriend, my best friends coming into town, and my parents brunching us Sunday! Then next week, Graham bought us tickets to see Home Alone on the big screen (I'm giddy--that's my favorite movie!!!) ANNNND I get to work the Eli Young Band concert on Thursday. Oh and did I mention I only have one final? Hallelujah.
Well I'm gonna wrap this novel of a post up.
Hope you all have days as happy as mine :)
