Happy Weekend Frands

Happy first day of summer!

Though it's felt like summer in Texas in since about April.... whatevs.

Today was the perfect Austin summer day. 

My best friend from high school came into town for the day. She's a camp counselor at a summer camp about an hour away, and since she had 24 hours off,  I took her to Barton Springs to cool off and soak up the sun for a little bit. Yall don't get to see real life Megan, but I am paaaaasty. It's embarrassing. I need a spray tan or something.

Anywho, while we were at Barton Springs, Courtney was messing with her Aggie class ring (she went to Texas A&M) and it flew off into the water. That thing is almost a solid pound (ok maybe not really) of gold, in addition to being a sign of Aggie pride and a bunch of other traditional crap, so naturally she freaked the F out. I'm talking full on tears and frantically picking up 20 pound rocks searching underneath. Finally some nice godsend man came up with some goggles and helped us look. Luckily, and I mean LUCKILY, this man apparently reads up on finding underwater treasures all the time and he found it within a few minutes. What a miracle. 

We decided that this place probably wasn't the best place to spend the rest of the afternoon, so we high-tailed it out of there to get some snowcones from my personal fave, Sno Beach, and hang out by clear water aka my apartment complex pool.

I had a really sad realization at the pool. I'm now officially old as shit. 

I heard some younger girls talking about how they got so drunk at a frat house the night before and how one didn't remember falling asleep, and woke up in some random guy's room. I found myself seriously judging this girl and I even almost scolded her for being so irresponsible. My wild nights now consist of a bottle of wine and Netflix. Ohhhhh to be 20 again. Just kidding, I actually didn't do anything like she did when I was younger, and probably would've judged her when I myself was her age. 

I also heard some guy say he wanted to get "Ke$ha-fied" tonight. I don't even know what that means.
