Weekend Roundup

Oh hey frands.

It's Monday. Blegh. Well actually.. today feels like any other day. That's what summer is all about.. not really knowing/caring what day of the week it is.

I did not want to wake up this morning. I took an allergy pill before I went to bed last night and it knocked me the crap out. I seriously felt like I was on drugs. So then... I decided to make myself a cup of coffee and now I'm bouncing off the walls. I just can't win.

Also, this song just came on my Spotify radio. I don't hate it. This song came out when I was in the 4th grade and I thought it was the greatest thing to enter my life since the Sanrio store. Why a 4th grader was allowed to listen to this song is beyond me... My parents really gave me a lot of freedom.

Anywho, this weekend was awesome.

Friday night, Graham took me to see his favorite band, the Japandroids. Not really my kind of music, but it was fun. I felt like an emo teenager the whole time. Graham was like a kid in a candy store.. he had this shit eating grin on his face the entire time and it was adorable. I love seeing people in their elements.

Saturday, we headed to San Antonio to see George Strait! We mayyyy have left a little too early (I guess arriving in SA at 3 and the concert starting at 6 was smooth on our part). Oh well. It gave us time to sweat to death and have a $20 margarita on the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk cracks me up.. it's like the most touristy spot in Texas. We ate at some dump called the Republic of Texas, mainly for the 0 minute wait time, and it was ridiculous. It was so stereotypical Texas.. all of the waiters wore cowboy hats and talked like idiot rednecks.

Speaking of the Riverwalk... it's no secret I'm in love with my Tervis Tumbler , so when I saw a Tervis store, I had to go in. Inside, they were advertising a bacon scented Yankee candle. It was the worst thing of my life. Don't smell it, no matter how tempting. Delicious bacon should never be a candle. Ever.

Anywho, Martina McBride and Miranda Lambert opened, which was very exciting because I'm in love with Miranda Lambert. She sang all of my favorite songs, then invited me on stage to be her best friend. Kidding. But she was incredible. Go see her as soon as you can.

Then King George came on. He was so so so good. I couldn't believe how many band members were on stage with him.. but I guess after 30 years of performing, you can afford to hire however many people you want. At the end, he sang this super sad song to his fans about how, even though his touring career was over, he will never ever forget how the fans made him feel. I almost cried, but I had already gotten all of my tears out over spending close to $50 on stadium food/beer. Those delicious hot dogs get me every time.

I'm sure you guys have gathered by now that I live in Austin, meaning we had to somehow get back there after the show. I'm not really sure who created the infrastructure that is the great and wonderful San Antonio, TX, but they really suck. So do the police. They shut down every possible road to get us home. The concert ended at 11ish and we didn't get home until almost 2am. It was ridiculous.


Sunday was spent relaxing by the pool, catching up with my bestie Anna, and watching puppies play soccer.

I'm a happy, happy girl.
